ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II, Materials Science and Engineering (part-time, 20 hrs/wk.), to provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to one faculty member. Responsibilities will include reconciling and monitoring accounting statements for research grants and fund accounts; preparing commitment reports and performing account projection analysis; compiling budgets and forms for grant applications to sponsoring agencies; and monitoring expenditures for compliance with sponsor guidelines and in accordance with approved budgets. Will also process procurement paperwork, invoices, travel reimbursements and transfer vouchers; type technical manuscripts and assist with preparation of educational materials; make complex travel arrangements; maintain files; Xerox; handle postage; answer telephones; coordinate communications for faculty who is periodically off campus; and provide other assistance as needed.
REQUIREMENTS: three to five years of office experience; proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, scanning, Illustrator, and PhotoShop; and knowledge of SAP. Must be highly organized and able to work effectively with a diverse group of personalities. Must posses good interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of team.
