Personnel
It is a pleasure to announce that Sara Darcy will join the
Administrative Services Organization (ASO) as a Financial
Assistant effective September 6, filling the position recently
vacated by Fionnuala Coary. Over the coming months, Sara will
absorb the tasks previously handled by Fionnuala. Sara comes
to us from Network Health Corporation, where she currently
works as a Project Manager. She received a Bachelor Degree
from MIT in 2004, majoring in Management Science with a concentration
in finance. Sara also worked part time as a Financial Assistant
under the direction of Connie Beal in Bob Langer's laboratory
while attending school. Sara's telephone extension will be
8-8338, and her email address will be assigned shortly. Please
join me in welcoming Sara to the Department.
It is a pleasure to announce that Edith Ortiz will join the
Administrative Services Organization (ASO) as a Financial
Assistant effective August 1, filling the position recently
vacated by Melissa Sheehan. Over the coming months, Edith
will absorb the tasks previously handled by Melissa. Edith
comes to us from Allmerica Financial, where she currently
works as a Quality Assurance Specialist, and previously worked
as an Account Representative. She holds a Bachelor of Science
Degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern
New Hampshire. Edith's telephone extension will be 3-0624,
and her email address will be assigned shortly. Please welcome
Edith to the Department.
Melissa Sheehan has accepted a position as a Financial Assistant
in the Media Lab, and will be leaving the ASO to begin her
new role on June 13. Melissa has been a pleasure to work with
over the past three and a half years, and we all join in wishing
her well in her new position. The search for an individual
to fill the Financial Assistant role in the ASO has begun.

Charlene Charles joined ASO as a Temporary Financial Assistant
1, effective April 19. Charlene will be supporting Amanda
Tat, and will also work closely with Richard and Fionnuala.
Charlene's office will be located 8-328 and she is reachable
at 253-2143. Please welcome Charlene to her new role.
Fionnuala Coary will be leaving her position as Financial
Assistant in the Administrative Services Organization (ASO)
to accept the position of Financial Coordinator in Chemistry
effective August 22. While we are all sad to see Fionnuala
leave, we are also very happy that she is able to pursue this
promotional opportunity. We all join in thanking Fionnuala
for her tremendous efforts over the past five years, and in
wishing her well in her future endeavors. Congratulations,
Fionnuala, on this wonderful promotion!
